Kinderkrebshilfe X Physixe.cgi
On behalf of Kinderkrebshilfe, we developed and executed a CGI-driven awareness campaign for World Children’s Cancer Day. The objective was to create strong public visibility and emotionally anchor the yellow ribbon as a symbol of solidarity and support for affected children.
The entire concept was developed from scratch — from creative direction to full CGI execution. The central storytelling idea followed one clear narrative thread: the oversized yellow ribbon is “on the move,” present throughout the city, symbolizing unity and awareness everywhere.
Scene 1 – Aerial Opening
We started with a drone shot as the base footage and rebuilt the environment in layers.
-
First layer: the original aerial plate
-
Second layer: aircraft carrier and fighter jet elements integrated into the sky
-
Third layer: modeling and animating an oversized yellow ribbon stretching across Schönbrunn Park
This scene created a powerful cinematic entry and established the scale of the campaign.
Scene 2 – Church Landmark
In the next sequence, the ribbon was wrapped around a church tower, integrating the symbol into a recognizable city landmark. The staging reinforced the idea that the message is present across different parts of the city.
Scene 3 – Moving Through the Streets
Another scene featured a vehicle carrying a trailer transporting the giant ribbon. This strengthened the narrative that the ribbon is traveling through Vienna, spreading awareness.
Final Landmark Integration – Albertina
The sequence culminated in a powerful visual moment at the Albertina, tying the different scenes together and reinforcing the campaign’s message.
The purpose of the multi-scene approach was to create a continuous red thread:
The yellow ribbon is everywhere.
It is visible.
It matters.
Today is World Children’s Cancer Day.
CGI allowed us to build large-scale symbolic installations that would not have been realistically possible in physical production.
Result:
The campaign was a strong success. Due to the emotional and visually compelling execution, multiple offline billboard owners provided their advertising spaces for the cause. Additionally, Wiener Linien shared the campaign across their public transportation network, significantly amplifying reach and public awareness.
The project stands as a strong example of how CGI storytelling can elevate social awareness campaigns and mobilize broad public support.
